Mill says it has sufficient wood inventory for time being
The mill in Nackawic has halted all wood deliveries for the foreseeable future.
In a public statement released on Aug. 7, the AV Group Southern NB Sales and Procurement Manager, Joe Simpsom, and Director of Forestry, Ryan McLaughlin, announced that AV Nackawic would stop accepting deliveries.
“This closure will be strictly enforced,” the release said.
A news release noted there was “sufficient wood inventory” to support its near-term operating requirements. There is no word on when deliveries will restart.
The stoppage includes poplar pulpwood, hardwood pulpwood, birch pulpwood, and biomass.
The delivery closure is until “further notice.” The announcement said more information would be posted when it became available.
