More than $1,800 will be donated to Camp Shiktehawk after the Woodstock accounting firm Lenehan McCain and Associates joined with Scotiabank for a fun bowl-off for charity event on Sept. 14.
The event was held at the Woodstock Bowlacade in Jacksonville.
There were door prizes provided by local businesses, and donation boxes for non-perishables for Valley Foodbank, and a pet food collection for DunRoamin’ Stray and Rescue.
The Wednesday night event raised $915, and Scotiabank matched funds to bring the total to $1,830. More than 60 people took part.
The winner got to choose the charity, and in the end, the accountants won, with Lenehan McCain picking Camp Shiktehaw. The bowl-off was such a success that organizers have already begun planning for next year.
