Bell says most customers’ service restored, last customers will be connected later tonight

Bell Aliant reported Monday morning, Oct. 2, that copper thieves left several of its customers without service.

“Due to a copper cable theft in Bairdsville, N.B., Internet, TV and home phone services for some customers between Woodstock and Perth are impacted,” Bell Aliant reported on Twitter and Facebook. “Crews are on site assessing the damage, and we will keep customers updated here as we work to restore service as quickly as possible.”

In an X (formerly Twitter) post on Monday afternoon, Bell noted their team is making ‘steady progress’ and expects service to be restored sometime around 7 p.m. Monday evening. Tonight, Bell is reporting that nearly all customers are back online, with the remaining customers being connected later this evening.

Despite the interruption, 911 services were still accessible.
