Charitable organization in need of volunteer directors
By Jesse Grass
The Friends of Carleton County (FOCC) are looking for someone to fill a vacant seat in their board of directors.
FOCC is a charity organization dedicated to assisting with fundraising for capital projects across Carleton County. Formerly Friends of Hartland, the organization recently issued a call for people to donate their time to serve on its board of directors.
“Directors would act to set strategy, oversee finances and ensure accountability with an oversight to legal and ethical compliance,” said Katherine Hann, founding director of the Friends of Carleton County. “The board’s focus will be on governance, oversight and stewardship.”
She noted that ideal candidates would have experience in community leadership, finance or accounting, board governance, project management, communications and marketing, fundraising or philanthropy, law and/or business.
“We value integrity, collaboration and sound judgement,” Hann told the River Valley Sun.
The board will meet at least quarterly, and any volunteers for the role will be asked to serve for a three-year term.
Interested candidates and those looking for more information can contact Hann at info@friendsofcarleton.ca.
