Route filled with onlookers as participants celebrate ‘Canada’s Teams’ for Old Home Week

Families lined the streets as local businesses, charities, and organizations paraded down Main Street in Woodstock on a hot Sunday afternoon, Aug. 2.

This year’s parade theme was ‘Canada’s Teams,’ celebrating the sporting organizations that unite us across the country. Fittingly, this year’s parade marshal was local sport legend Patti Connors.

Connors has been an athlete with the Special Olympics New Brunswick – Western Valley Region for over 40 years. During this time, she has earned numerous medals in track and field, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, bowling, and shot put. She has represented Canada in the United States, Austria, Abu Dhabi, and Germany.

Judging of parade entries was done in real time, and the Woodstock Old Home Week committee is pleased to offer congratulations to the 2026 winners:

Best Overall: MFC Carpentry
Best Commercial: 3D Printing Services
Best Community and Organization: Western Valley Stingrays
Most Original and Creative: Western Valley U12 Girls Competitive Baseball

The Old Home Week committee thanked “everyone who participated in this year’s parade!” on their Facebook page, sharing that “Your efforts help make Woodstock Old Home Week a special tradition that our community looks forward to each year.”
