The West District RCMP says a 47-year-old woman died in a single-vehicle crash Friday, Sept. 22, in the Grand Falls Regional Municipality.

In a release, the RCMP said members of the Saint-Léonard RCMP detachment, Grand Falls Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded at 6:15 a.m. to a report of a single-vehicle crash near West River Road.

RCMP said the Perth-Andover woman, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene due to her injuries.

Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and went into a ravine.

An RCMP Remote Piloted Aircraft Operator and a New Brunswick Coroner’s office member are both assisting with the investigation.

Police said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman’s exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
