Two municipal recounts requested in Upper River Valley

Results in Woodstock, Southern Victoria wards to be reviewed

Elections New Brunswick has had two requests for recounts in western New Brunswick.

In Southern Victoria, a recount was requested for Ward 3, where Sara Plant (inc.) beat Miranda Francis-Perley by one vote.
In Woodstock, Ward 4 results will get a second look after Jeff Bradbury (inc.) lost to Laura Gaddas by 11 votes.

Within the River Valley Sun’s coverage area, which covers municipalities from Nackawic-Millville to Southern Victoria, there are six results eligible for a recount, in which winners captured seats by 25 votes or fewer.

Candidates have until May 21 to request recounts through Elections New Brunswick. There is no word yet on when the local recounts will take place. Local returning officers conduct recounts.
