Woodstock police arrest man after boat crash

Thirty-six-year-old facing break, enter, and theft charges

The Woodstock Police Force arrested a 36-year-old man concerning a series of events on July 10 in Woodstock. 

In a media release, the WPF said officers responded to a call to investigate a series of break-ins and an attempted break-and-enter on July 10. 

The statement explained that someone informed the investigating officers about a stolen boat. WPF said the suspect crashed the boat on rocks in the Meduxnekeag River, where he abandoned it and swam to shore. 

Police said uniformed patrol officers successfully identified the responsible individual and subsequently apprehended a 36-year-old male. The man remains in custody awaiting charges of two counts of break-and-enter, one of attempted break-and-enter, possession of stolen property, two counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of breaching his recognizance.
