Charged with robbery with violence
Tearston Tee Saulis, 30, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court in custody by video from federal prison on June 3.
Saulis was charged by the RCMP with the robbery of a motor vehicle with violence on March 26 at Neqotkuk. The court heard he was entitled to a bail hearing, which was scheduled for June 6 at 1:30 p.m.
Saulis was arrested in March on a Canada-wide warrant issued by Correctional Services Canada for an alleged parole violation. He told the court on Tuesday that he was in custody at Dorchester Penitentiary and expected to be transferred to Renous.
Sentenced to 149 days or time served
Greg Paul McCormick, 36, of Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation), appeared in provincial court in custody for sentencing on June 3 after pleading guilty to three charges laid by Woodstock Police and RCMP.
Judge Karen Lee handed him 149 days in jail or time served and imposed a lifetime prohibition on weapons.
McCormick pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon (a taser) while prohibited from having it concerning an incident on Feb. 25 in Woodstock.
He also pleaded guilty to mischief causing property damage to a truck and guilty to possession of a weapon (a BB gun) for the purpose of committing an offence on Feb. 25 at Wotstak. The crown withdrew three other charges. The court heard the incident involved a dispute with his former neighbours.
All weapons seized during the investigation were forfeited to the crown. McCormick had a prior criminal record.
Released with conditions
Jesse Demerchant, 33, of Windsor, appeared in provincial court in custody by video on June 2 for a bail hearing. He was released with conditions and returns to court for plea on July 8 at 9:30 a.m.
RCMP charged Demerchant with assault, assault with a weapon, and assault by choking involving a female victim. He was arrested and held in custody over the weekend.
Denied bail and remanded
Larry Shane Kennedy, 50, of Kirkland, appeared in provincial court in custody on June 2 for a bail hearing on three new charges laid by RCMP. He was denied bail and remanded. He returns to court in custody for plea on June 6 at 1:30 p.m.
Kennedy was charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, breaching a release order and unauthorized possession of ammunition in connection with a search warrant executed on May 29 at his residence in Kirkland. A female co-accused was also arrested at the scene.
Kennedy and Joshua Sterling Trail, 42, of Benton, are scheduled to appear in provincial court on June 6 at 1:30 p.m. to answer other charges laid by RCMP.
They were each charged with possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine, both for the purpose of trafficking on Feb. 16 in Kirkland; indictable robbery of a motor vehicle on Feb. 5 at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation); illegal possession of a firearm (a Russian SKS semi-automatic rifle), and improper storage of a gun on Feb. 16 at Kirkland.
Trail pleaded not guilty on all counts and is awaiting a trial date. Kennedy’s plea was adjourned to allow him more time to consult his lawyer.
The trial appeared in provincial court in custody by video on May 22 for a bail hearing. He was released with conditions, including a curfew and the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle. He will be residing at a residence in Ashland. Judge Henrik Tonning ordered him to have no contact with Kennedy during his release.
On Feb. 18, Kennedy appeared in court in custody. He was released with conditions, including house arrest and the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle, but he has returned to custody.
Trail was also charged with fraudulent impersonation for a separate incident on Dec. 9, 2024, at Richmond Corner. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial date was rescheduled for March 11, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Trail was also charged with breaking into a dwelling house on Charlotte Street to commit mischief, unlawful entry for the purpose of committing an offence, possession of break-in tools, possession of a stolen Blue Cross card, mischief causing property damage to a door, interfering with the lawful use of property, and illegal possession of methamphetamine for an incident between Sept. 6-7, 2024, in Woodstock. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial was set for July 23-24, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
A co-accused, Dynielle Demerchant, 28, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on June 3 and pleaded not guilty to the same list of charges for the alleged break-in on Charlotte Street. Her trial date was also set for July 23-24, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Demerchant also pleaded not guilty to possession of stolen property and breach of probation concerning a separate incident in Woodstock on Sept. 17, 2024. Her trial will be held on July 23-24, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Sentencing set for impaired
Stephen Pirie, 60, of Rowena, appeared in provincial court on May 29 and changed his plea to guilty on an impaired driving charge. His sentencing was set for June 24 at 1:30 p.m.
RCMP charged Pirie with impaired driving following an incident on Oct. 20, 2024, at Perth-Andover.
Three new charges
Samuel Robert Crewe, 30, of Jacksonville, appeared in provincial court on June 3 and pleaded not guilty to three charges laid by Woodstock Police. His trial date was set for July 22, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Crewe was charged with flight from police, dangerous driving and breach of a release order following an incident on May 6 in Woodstock.
He also appeared in provincial court on Feb. 18 and pleaded not guilty to four other charges laid by the RCMP. His trial date was set for Feb. 11, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
He appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on Jan. 6 and was released with conditions.
Crewe was charged by RCMP with possession of methamphetamine, flight from police, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited in connection with an incident in Kirkland on Jan. 4. He has a prior criminal record.
Tilley man found not guilty
Troy Pelkey, 56, of Tilley, appeared in provincial court in custody on June 2 for a verdict following his trial on assault charges. Judge Karen Lee found him not guilty on all counts.
RCMP charged Pelkey with assault by choking, assault causing bodily harm to a female victim, and uttering threats for incidents between April 1, 2023, and Nov. 1, 2023, at Tilley. Five witnesses, including the victim, were called to testify during the trial. Pelkey testified in his own defence.
In delivering her decision, Judge Lee stated the victim’s evidence could not be relied upon due to inconsistencies in her testimony and memory loss related to recent health issues.
Pelkey is also in jail awaiting the continuation of his trial on other unrelated charges laid by RCMP in connection with an alleged kidnapping at Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) last April.
He pleaded not guilty to kidnapping, uttering threats, forcible confinement, extortion with violence to obtain $10,000, pointing a firearm at a female victim, and unauthorized possession of a gun between April 27 and April 29, 2024, at Neqotkuk. That trial continues on July 16 and Aug. 21-22. Seven individuals were charged in the incident.
Facing sex charges
David Hayden, 73, of Tracey Mills, appeared in provincial court on June 3 to answer to two sex charges. The matter was adjourned for plea until July 8 at 9:30 a.m.
Hayden was charged by RCMP with sexual assault and solicitation of a minor for sexual services concerning an incident on Sept. 12, 2023, at Florenceville-Bristol.
Released on undertaking
Benjamin Watson, 40, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on July 15 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on an assault charge.
Woodstock Police charged Watson with assault involving a female victim stemming from an incident on May 19 in Woodstock. He made his first court appearance on June 3 and was released on an undertaking.
Arrest warrant issued
The court issued an arrest warrant for James Earle Dow, 47, of Dow Settlement, after he failed to appear in provincial court for sentencing on June 3.
Dow pleaded guilty to driving while prohibited and refusing a breathalyzer demand in connection with an incident on May 14, 2023, at Dow Settlement. RCMP laid the charges. On March 18, his sentencing was adjourned to allow Dow to attend a rehab program.
Guilty of assault
Kyrin Moulton, 19, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court in custody on June 3 and pleaded guilty to an assault charge laid by RCMP. His sentencing was scheduled for June 19 at 1:30 p.m.
Moulton was charged by RCMP with aggravated assault involving another man, breaching a release order, and breach of probation for an incident on Nov. 23, 2024, at Perth-Andover. He pleaded guilty to the lesser included offence of assault causing bodily harm, and the crown withdrew the remaining two charges.
Moulton appeared in provincial court in custody by video on May 22 after being arrested in Fredericton on a warrant for failing to attend court. He waived his bail and was remanded.
He appeared in court in custody for a bail hearing in Woodstock on April 1. He was released with conditions and ordered to enter a rehab facility in Sussex. On May 13, the court heard he had absconded from the facility. Moulton has a prior criminal record.
Plea adjourned to new date
Zachery Don Brooks, 21, of Peel, will appear in provincial court for plea on June 17 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on charges laid by Woodstock Police and RCMP. He was scheduled to enter his plea on June 3 when the matter was adjourned to allow him more time to consult legal counsel.
Brooks appeared in provincial court in custody on Feb. 20 and was released with conditions. RCMP charged him with assaulting a female victim, assault by choking, unlawful confinement and mischief causing property damage to a cell phone on Feb. 12 at Lower Brighton.
Woodstock Police charged him with assaulting a female victim and unlawful confinement for an incident on Feb. 19 in Woodstock. Brooks also faces a charge of assaulting another woman on Nov. 24, 2024, in Lower Brighton.
Awaiting plea on two charges
Robert McFarlane, 39, of Florenceville-Bristol, appeared in provincial court on June 3 to answer two charges laid by RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until July 8 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
McFarlane was charged with uttering threats and theft of cigarettes in connection with an incident on Feb. 15 at Florenceville-Bristol.
RCMP also charged him with assaulting another man on April 4 at Florenceville-Bristol, breaking into a dwelling house, committing mischief causing property damage to a door, and breach of an undertaking on May 4 in Johnville. He pleaded not guilty, and a new date for his trial was rescheduled for Nov. 26 at 9:30 a.m.
He appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on Dec. 11, 2024, and was released with conditions. As part of his release, McFarlane was ordered to follow a curfew, have no contact with the complainant and stay away from a residence in Johnville. He was also prohibited from using firearms.
Adjourned for new counsel
Cole Paul Smith, 30, of Johnville, appeared in provincial court on June 2 for plea on charges laid by Woodstock Police and RCMP. The matters were adjourned until June 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Smith appeared in provincial court in custody by video for a bail hearing on May 1. He was released with conditions, including house arrest and the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle.
Woodstock Police charged Smith with assault with a weapon (a metal stool) and two counts of uttering threats on April 10-11 in Woodstock.
RCMP also charged him with assault involving a female victim, unlawful confinement, and two counts of uttering threats concerning another incident between Nov. 15 and Nov. 30, 2024, in Johnville. He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants.
Smith also appeared in provincial court on April 8 and pleaded not guilty to three other charges laid by the RCMP. His trial date was set for March 30, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. He was charged with uttering threats, assault by choking and unlawful entry at a dwelling house on Oct. 22, 2024, at Johnville.
Held for bail hearing
Logan Estey, 20, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on June 2. He was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on June 5 at 1:30 p.m.
Woodstock Police charged Estey with breaching a release order (no contact) for an incident on June 1 in Woodstock.
At an earlier court appearance, he pleaded not guilty to other separate matters and three trial dates were set for Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m., Feb. 4, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. and March 6, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Estey was charged by RCMP with assault, assault with a weapon (a car), and dangerous driving following an incident on July 24, 2024, at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation).
Woodstock Police charged him with two counts of breaching a no-contact order concerning an incident in Woodstock on Aug. 3, 2024. He was ordered to have no further contact with the complainant. He appeared in provincial court in custody on Aug. 8, 2024, and was released with conditions.
He was also charged with mischief causing property damage to a window, and possession of a firearm for the purpose of committing an offence in connection with an incident on Jan. 1, 2024, in Upper Woodstock. The court heard Estey was also facing more charges in Fredericton.
Trial adjourned
Carla Lynn Shaw, 56, of Hartland, was scheduled to appear for trial in provincial court on June 26 after pleading not guilty to charges laid by RCMP. Her trial was adjourned until Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the request of her defence counsel.
Shaw was charged with impaired driving and committing mischief causing property damage to a vehicle in connection with an incident on March 9 near Hartland. On June 3, the court heard that a change of plea is expected on one charge when she appears in court in September.
Dead Creek man awaiting trial
Bradley Collicott, 50, of Dead Creek, appeared in provincial court on June 3 and pleaded not guilty to an assault charge. His trial was scheduled for June 15, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
RCMP charged Collicott with assault involving a female victim following an incident on Nov. 3, 2024, at Dead Creek. A monitoring date for his trial was set for March 10, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Charged with unlawful entry
Danielle Marie Francis of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) will appear in provincial court on July 15 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on one charge laid by RCMP.
Francis was charged with unlawful entry at a dwelling house in connection with an incident on Jan. 12 at Carlingford. She was ordered to stay away from the Perth-Andover Motor Inn when she made her first court appearance on June 3.
Trial adjourned to new date
Nathan Vallee, 24, of Beechwood, will appear for trial in provincial court on Aug. 21 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by RCMP. His trial was scheduled for May 29 but was adjourned to the new date.
Vallee was charged with assault involving a female victim and uttering threats concerning an incident on Dec. 28, 2023, in Beechwood.
New sentencing date
Jayson Lee O’Hagan, 21, of Bairdsville, will appear for sentencing in provincial court on June 26 at 1:30 p.m. after changing his plea to guilty on two charges laid by RCMP. On June 3, his sentencing was adjourned to the new date at the request of his defence counsel.
O’Hagan pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and breaching a release order on Sept. 15, 2024, near Bairdsville. The crown withdrew several other charges. He appeared in provincial court in custody by video on March 20 for a bail hearing and was released with conditions, including house arrest.
O’Hagan appeared in provincial court in custody on May 8 and was released with conditions. He returns to court on June 17 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on a charge of breaching his release order.
Trial date changed
Regis Bowmaster, 31, of Bairdsville, appeared for trial in provincial court on June 2 after pleading not guilty to several charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was adjourned to June 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Bowmaster was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest concerning an incident on Jan. 4, 2024, at Bairdsville. He was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon (a sawed-off shotgun), improper storage of a firearm, possession of a stolen ATV, and being an occupant of a vehicle knowing it carried a gun for another incident on May 27, 2024, at Perth-Andover.
Bowmaster appeared in provincial court in custody by video for a bail hearing on Nov. 4, 2024, and was released with conditions.
RCMP also charged him with two counts of breaching a release order and possession of methamphetamine concerning an incident on Oct. 23 at Pembroke. He pleaded not guilty in December, and his trial date was set for Nov. 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
Awaiting plea
Christopher Elliott, 35, of Wapske, appeared in provincial court on June 3 to answer charges laid by RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until July 8 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Elliott appeared in provincial court in custody by video on April 10 for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. RCMP charged him with breaking into a dwelling house and breach of probation concerning an incident on March 31 at Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation). He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants.
Needs legal counsel
Tyler Vrieze, 29, of Debec, appeared in provincial court on June 3 for monitoring about his trial on a stolen property charge. His trial was scheduled for June 19 at 1:30 p.m., but he told the court he was still without a lawyer.
Vrieze was charged by Woodstock Police with possession of stolen property (an ATV) on July 27, 2023, in Woodstock. He pleaded not guilty. Another monitoring date was set for June 10 at 9:30 a.m. to confirm he has legal counsel to proceed.
Charged with trafficking
Michelle Augustine of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) appeared in provincial court on June 3 to answer a drug trafficking charge. The matter was adjourned for plea until July 9 at 9:30 a.m. to allow her more time to secure legal counsel.
Augustine was charged by RCMP with trafficking in cocaine in connection with an incident on Aug. 30, 2024, at Neqotkuk. She was released on an undertaking until her next court appearance.
Facing two flight charges
David Fleming, 19, of Plaster Rock, will appear in provincial court on June 17 at 9:30 a.m. to answer two flight charges laid by RCMP.
Fleming was charged with two counts of fleeing police on Feb. 15 in Beaconsfield and in Aroostook. He was scheduled for plea on June 3 when the matter was adjourned to the new date at the request of his defence counsel.
Not guilty of identity theft
Christopher Isaiah Eatmon, 30, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on June 3 and pleaded not guilty to four charges laid by Woodstock Police. His trial was slated for June 24, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Eatmon was charged with two counts of forgery related to a First Nations status card, identity theft, and fraudulent impersonation for an incident on Oct. 7, 2024, in Woodstock.
Trial dates confirmed
Lisa Marie Barrett, 49, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on June 3 to set a trial date after pleading not guilty to an assault charge laid by Woodstock Police. Her trial will be held on June 3, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Barrett was charged with assault involving a male victim in connection with an incident on Aug. 4, 2024, at Woodstock. A monitoring date for her trial was scheduled for April 7, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
She also appeared in provincial court on Jan. 14 and pleaded not guilty to two other charges laid by the RCMP. Her trial date was set for Dec. 4 at 9:30 a.m.
Barrett was charged with uttering threats and obstructing the course of justice for an incident on Aug. 24, 2024, at Wicklow. She was released on an undertaking until her next court appearance.
Newfoundland man to stand trial
Daniel Ralph Arch, 49, of Northern Arm, Newfoundland, will appear for trial in provincial court on Aug. 20 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to one charge laid by RCMP. His trial was scheduled for June 18 but was adjourned to the new date at the request of his defence counsel.
Arch was charged with dangerous driving and causing bodily harm following an accident on March 27 at Dorrington Hill near Canterbury. A warrant will be held on file until his trial.
Refusing a breathalyzer
Lindsay Harris, 22, of Waterville, appeared in provincial court on June 3 and pleaded not guilty to a breathalyzer charge laid by Woodstock Police. Her trial is set for June 19, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Harris was charged with refusing a breathalyzer in connection with an incident on Dec. 29, 2024, in Lower Woodstock. A monitoring date for her trial was also scheduled for March 3, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Limestone man faces two charges
Nicholas Andrew Scott, 39, of Limestone, will appear in provincial court on July 8 at 9:30 a.m. to answer three charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Scott was charged with flight from police, dangerous driving and mischief causing property damage to a door following an incident on Dec. 2, 2024, at NBCC Woodstock. He was scheduled for plea on June 3, when the matter was adjourned to the new date to allow him more time to secure legal counsel.
Trial set on threat charge
Tammy Lloyd, 49, of Plaster Rock, appeared in provincial court on June 3 and pleaded not guilty to a threat charge laid by RCMP. Her trial was set for June 25, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Lloyd was charged with uttering threats against another woman concerning an incident on Feb. 21 at Upper Kent. A monitoring date for her trial was scheduled for March 3, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Charge withdrawn
The crown withdrew a charge laid against Todd Clay Dufour, 34, of Perth-Andover, when he appeared in provincial court on June 3.
Woodstock Police charged Dufour with failing to report his whereabouts to the national sex offender registry on Aug. 1, 2023. He pleaded not guilty.
