Tobique Valley High School opens in time for graduation

by | Jun 18, 2025

Bat eradication that closed the school in the spring a success

After three and a half weeks of no dead and live bats, the Tobique Valley High School (TVHS) moved items back into classrooms and was able to host graduation ceremonies on Tuesday, June 17, in Plaster Rock.

Paul MacIntosh, the Director of Communications for Anglophone School District–West, said the pest control company responsible for the cleaning finished their last inspections on June 5.

While TVHS students at Southern Victoria High School will technically finish the school year there, they were able to come ‘home’ for graduation.

The TVHS Middle School students attending Donald Fraser Middle School (DFMS) during the shutdown will stay at DFMS until June 20 to finish the school year.

On June 19, Grade 5 students from DFMS will visit TVHS for a transition tour. All the middle school items at DFMS will be moved back to TVHS on June 23.
