Timothy Brian Wheelan, 39, and Samuel Robert Crewe, 31, both of Jacksonville, appeared in provincial court in custody via video for sentencing on July 30 after changing their plea to guilty on drug charges laid by the RCMP.
Wheelan also pleaded guilty to three gun charges laid by Woodstock Police. His sentencing on all charges was adjourned until Aug. 13 at 9:30 a.m. to allow for the submission of a victim impact statement.
Defence Counsel Annie Maltais requested Wheelan be moved to federal remand to await sentencing as a federal prison term was expected for drug trafficking. Wheelan agreed and told the court he wanted to go “get my programs done” at the federal level. Judge Rose Campbell granted the request for federal remand.
The RCMP charged the two men after a search warrant was executed at their residence on June 13, 2025, in Jacksonville.
Wheelan pleaded guilty to possession of ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking, indictable possession of cocaine, and indictable possession of fentanyl. The Crown withdrew one other charge.
Crewe pleaded guilty to indictable possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced on July 30 to 45 days in jail consecutive to time he is already serving in a federal prison for other offences. The Crown withdrew three other charges.
Wheelan also pleaded to two counts of storing firearms in a careless manner and possession of firearms without a licence on June, 13, 2025, in Woodstock and Jacksonville. The Crown withdrew seven other charges.
The court heard a stockpile of rifles and ammunition was seized by police after a search of a garage in Woodstock. A handgun, a sawed-off shotgun, and ammunition were also seized during the search of the Jacksonville residence along with a stash of various narcotics found in a container on the kitchen table. All items seized were forfeited to the Crown.
Crewe pleaded not guilty to 13 gun charges related to the same incident but those charges did not proceed. The Crown called no evidence, and Crewe received a directed verdict of not guilty on July 10.
At an earlier court appearance, Wheelan pleaded guilty to other separate charges of uttering threats against a female victim on April 10, 2025, in Woodstock, and guilty to uttering threats against two other women on Aug. 12, 2025, at Jacksonville. The Crown withdrew two other charges. He will be sentenced on Aug. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Wheelan was denied bail on Nov. 20, 2025. He also changed his plea to guilty for breaching his curfew on Sept. 23, 2025, at Carlingford, and to guilty of breach of an undertaking (no weapons), possession of a stolen utility trailer, and resisting arrest on Nov. 17, 2025, at Meductic. The Crown withdrew three more charges. He will be sentenced on Aug. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Crewe was sentenced to three years in federal prison, minus time served, when he appeared in provincial court via video in custody on Jan. 26. He pleaded guilty to a raft of drug and theft charges, as well as driving offences, laid by Woodstock Police and the RCMP. He had a prior criminal record.
330 days or time served
Brittany Priscilla King, 28, of Woodstock, was sentenced to 330 days in jail or time served when she appeared in provincial court in custody on July 29. She changed her plea to guilty on multiple charges laid by the Woodstock Police.
Judge Leslie Jackson also ordered King to register with the federal DNA database and prohibited her from possessing any weapons for 10 years. King had a prior criminal record.
She pleaded guilty to assaulting a female victim on Feb. 23, 2024 at the Miramichi jail; assault to a female victim on May 2, 2024 at the Miramichi jail; four counts of failing to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2025, Oct. 6, 2025, Jan. 22, 2026, and on March 24, 2026; resisting arrest on Nov. 23, 2025; and assaulting a male victim with a weapon (a knife) on Nov. 5, 2023, in Woodstock. The court heard she stabbed a man in the arm and then ran out of a residence on Broadway Street.
King also pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm to a female victim on March 15, 2024 in Miramichi but her sentencing was adjourned until Aug. 24 at 1:30 p.m. to allow for the submission of a victim impact statement. The Crown said King still had 136 days of remand credit that would be applied to her sentence for the assault.
King had been in custody since her arrest in March 2026 and told the court she was looking forward to returning to her own apartment after her release from custody. Her defence counsel argued drug addiction and mental health issues led to her incarceration.
Remanded after bail hearing
Mitchell David McKenzie, 39, of Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation), was denied bail when he appeared in provincial court in custody via video on July 31 on charges laid by RCMP. He returns to court in custody for plea on Aug. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
On July 27, McKenzie appeared in court in custody via video for a fitness hearing. He was found fit to stand trial according to his medical report.
McKenzie was charged with two counts of uttering threats, resisting arrest, breach of a release order and breach of probation. He appeared in court in custody on July 22 and was remanded to the Restigouche hospital for a five-day mental health assessment.
On March 24, McKenzie appeared in provincial court and pleaded not guilty to two other charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was booked for April 15, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.
McKenzie appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 12 for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. He was charged by the RCMP with uttering threats and breach of probation concerning an incident on Feb. 7 at Wotstak. As part of his release, he was ordered to report weekly to the police and to have no contact with the complainant.
Arrested on a warrant
Christian John Shannon, 26, of Williamstown, appeared in court in custody via teleconference on July 29 after being arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court for sentencing. He was released with conditions and will return to court on Oct. 27 at 1:30 p.m. to hear his sentence. A pre-sentence report was ordered by the court.
On April 20, Shannon appeared for trial in provincial court and changed his plea to guilty of breaching his probation between Jan. 30 and Aug. 16, 2024, in Woodstock, and theft from Don’s Pawn Shop in Woodstock on April 30, 2024. His sentencing was first set for July 23, but he did not attend and a warrant was issued.
Four months or time served
Joshua Sterling Trail, 42, of Hartland, was sentenced to four months in jail or time served when he appeared for sentencing in provincial court on July 29 on two charges laid by Woodstock Police. He was also fined $200.
Trail pleaded guilty to unlawful entry at a dwelling house on Charlotte Street and committing mischief while on the property in connection with an incident between Sept. 6 and Sept. 7, 2024, at an apartment in Woodstock. The Crown withdrew several other charges.
The court heard Trail had been squatting at a vacant apartment without the permission of the owner. He was out of work at the time and struggling with drug addiction. Trail told the court he was now sober and working full-time as a truck driver in the North. He had a prior criminal record.
A co-accused, Dynielle Allison Demerchant, 28, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on July 23 and pleaded guilty to breaking into the same residence on Charlotte Street, committing mischief, possession of a stolen Blue Cross card, breach of probation, and indictable possession of methamphetamine.
She also pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen vehicle and breach of probation in connection with a separate incident on Sept. 17, 2024, in Woodstock. Her sentencing was set for Nov. 6 at 1:30 p.m.
Returning for plea
Kyler Tofflemire, 30, of Bath will appear in provincial court on Aug. 25 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on two charges laid by RCMP.
Tofflemire was charged with unlawful entry at a dwelling house between July 26-27 in Beechwood, and assault on July 6 at Beechwood. He made his first court appearance on July 28 when the matter was adjourned to the new date. He was released on an undertaking until that time.
New trial date pending
Shayne Everett Cameron, 33, of Woodstock, appeared for trial in provincial court in custody on July 29 after pleading not guilty to charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was adjourned, and a new trial date will be set on Aug. 6 at 9:30 a.m.
Cameron appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on April 2, when he waived bail. He was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited from having it, flight from police, dangerous driving, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and breach of probation following an incident on March 29 at Perth-Andover when a spike belt was used to stop a fleeing vehicle. Cameron has a prior criminal record.
Glassville man to stand trial
Timothy Maurice Thibodeau, 42, of Glassville, appeared for trial in provincial court on July 30 after pleading not guilty to charges laid by RCMP. He told the court he did not have a lawyer and his trial was adjourned until Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m.
Thibodeau pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking on Nov. 28, 2023, in Oakland, uttering threats on Sept. 4, 2023, at Hartland, and failing to appear in court on Oct. 24, 2024. A monitoring date was set for Aug. 21 at 9:30 a.m. to confirm he has legal counsel to proceed to trial.
Trial adjourned to fall
Cameron James Clark, 25, of Mapledale, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on July 31 for a monitoring hearing about his trial. Judge Henrik Tonning adjourned the trial until Sept. 12 at 9:30 a.m. and Oct. 8 at 9:30 a.m. to allow his defence counsel more time to review disclosure.
Clark was arrested in April for allegedly breaching his house arrest in Mapledale. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded.
Clark also has other charges. He pleaded not guilty to breach of probation, resisting arrest, uttering threats, stalking a female victim, breaking into a dwelling house, assault with a weapon, assaulting another man, and mischief, causing property damage to a door on Sept. 17, 2025, at Mapledale. He pleaded not guilty.
He was also charged with stalking a female victim, dangerous driving and breach of probation on Sept. 19, 2025, in Mapledale; and breaching a release order on Oct. 21, 2025, in Woodstock. He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants. He pleaded not guilty.
Clark appeared in provincial court via video while in custody in November for a bail hearing after being arrested for breaching his release order (ankle bracelet). He was released with conditions, including house arrest and wearing another electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle, but returned to custody.
Judge and jury trial
Steven Dolk, 54, of Moncton, appeared in provincial court on July 29 and pleaded not guilty to charges laid by the RCMP. He elected trial by judge and jury and his trial date will be set at the Court of King’s Bench on the next Motions Day on Sept. 8.
Dolk was charged with uttering threats, assault and sexual assault in connection with an incident on June 28, 2021, at Limestone.
Sentencing on two charges
Georgia Wilson, 21, of Woodstock, appeared for trial in provincial court on July 31 and changed her plea to guilty on two charges laid by the RCMP. Her sentencing date was set for Oct. 27 at 1:30 p.m.
Wilson pleaded guilty to resisting arrest on July 22, 2025, at Wilmot, and breaching an undertaking (no contact), on July 26, 2025, at Summerfield. One other charge was withdrawn by the Crown.
