Woodstock Provincial Court: Man charged with dangerous driving causing death

Charges laid in fatal accident

Casey Feuser, 37, of Sussex, appeared in provincial court on Sept. 16 to answer four charges related to a fatal accident that killed two people on the Trans Canada Highway outside Woodstock last year.

RCMP charged Feuser with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of failing to remain at the scene of an accident on Sept. 26, 2024, near Hay Settlement. His plea was adjourned until Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m.

Two male passengers from Sussex died as a result of the single-vehicle accident, which occurred around 1:30 a.m. The vehicle was travelling eastbound on the highway when it lost control and went into a ditch.

Three charged with drug trafficking

Kurtis Stenger, 33, of Fredericton, Samuel Robert Crewe, 31, and Timothy Brian Wheelan, 37, both of Jacksonville, will appear in provincial court on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. to answer drug trafficking charges laid by the RCMP.

Crewe appeared in custody by video on Sept. 16, while Stenger and Wheelan were also present in court.

The three men were each charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine, both for the purpose of trafficking, in connection with incidents between June 1 and June 13 in Jacksonville.

Crewe also faces another charge of breaching a release order on March 6 in Woodstock. He will enter a plea on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m.

Crewe was denied bail on July 24 on other separate charges. Woodstock Police charged him with being at large on a release order by violating his house arrest, stemming from an incident on June 24 in Woodstock. He pleaded not guilty, and a trial date was rescheduled for Jan. 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

He also faces additional charges of possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine, both for the purpose of trafficking, on March 19 in Woodstock. He pleaded not guilty, and a trial date was set for Jan. 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. A monitoring date was booked for Oct. 21 at 9:30 a.m.

A co-accused, Kaylee Melinda Smith, has also been charged with drug trafficking and two counts of identity theft concerning the same incident on March 19 in Woodstock. She pleaded not guilty, and her trial was also set for Jan. 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. A monitoring date was booked for Oct. 21 at 9:30 a.m.

Crewe also appeared in provincial court on June 3 and pleaded not guilty to three other charges laid by Woodstock Police, including flight from police, dangerous driving and breach of a release order on May 6 in Woodstock. His trial date was rescheduled for Jan. 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

He also appeared in provincial court on Feb. 18 and pleaded not guilty to four more charges laid by the RCMP. His trial date was set for Feb. 11, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

Crewe was charged by the RCMP with possession of methamphetamine, flight from police, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited in connection with a single vehicle accident in Kirkland on Jan. 4. He has a prior criminal record.

House arrest, probation

Mitchell LaFrance, 26, of Perth-Andover, appeared in provincial court in custody by video for sentencing on Sept. 16 after changing his plea to guilty on an assault charge laid by the RCMP.

Judge Leslie Jackson handed him six months of house arrest and 24 months of probation. LaFrance was also ordered to seek counselling. He will be permitted to attend work during his house arrest and will be residing at a residence in Tilley.

LaFrance pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm involving a female victim stemming from an incident on July 19, 2024, at Carlingford. The Crown withdrew two other charges.

The court heard the assault charge resulted from a domestic dispute that took place inside a vehicle in a parking lot outside a local motel. The female victim was treated at the hospital for facial bruises and lacerations. LaFrance was ordered to have no further contact with the woman. He had a limited prior criminal record with no previous convictions involving violence.

LaFrance has been in custody for several months since he was arrested on a charge of breaching his release order for an incident on Jan. 24 in Edmundston. He has a sentencing hearing in Edmundston on Sept. 22.

In custody after knife incident

Taranjeet Singh, 39, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody on Sept. 16 for a bail hearing. The hearing was adjourned and Singh returns to court in custody for plea on Oct. 7 at 1:30 p.m.

Singh was charged by Woodstock Police with assault with a weapon (a knife) and uttering threats in connection with an incident on Sept. 6 and another alleged assault on Sept. 7 in Woodstock. He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants.

Guilty of impaired driving

Michael Feaver, 44, of Gordonsville, appeared in provincial court on Sept. 16 and pleaded guilty to an impaired driving charge.

RCMP charged Feaver following an incident on May 31 in Fielding. His sentencing date was set for Dec. 16 at 1:30 p.m.

Trial scheduled on two charges

Thomas Wood, 49, of Divide, will appear for trial in provincial court on Nov. 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP.

Wood was charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats concerning an incident on May 27 in Glassville. He made his first court appearance on Sept. 16.

Adjourned for plea

Cody Orland Doherty, 39, of no fixed address, will appear in provincial court on Oct. 21 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on two charges laid by the RCMP.

Doherty was charged with committing mischief and obstructing police in connection with an incident on May 20 at Florenceville-Bristol. He made his first court appearance on Sept. 16 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.

Sentencing postponed

Yves Levesque, 36, of Plaster Rock, appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Sept. 16 for sentencing after changing his plea to guilty on multiple charges laid by the RCMP.

His sentencing was adjourned when the court heard he was facing seven more charges. Levesque returns to court in custody on Sept. 23 at 9:30 a.m. to enter a plea on those matters and to set a new sentencing date on the rest. He also has two charges being transferred from Edmundston.

Levesque pleaded guilty to assaulting a female victim on Aug. 14, 2024, at New Denmark; guilty to assault on the same female between Oct. 1 and Oct. 27, 2024, at McLaughlin, Victoria County; guilty to uttering threats and assault by choking on Oct. 28, 2024, at Perth-Andover; guilty to uttering threats, and assault by choking on Oct. 31, 2024, at McLaughlin; guilty to assault with a weapon (a helmet), uttering threats, assault causing bodily harm, and break and enter at a dwelling house on Dec. 20, 2024, at McLaughlin; guilty to break and enter and theft, and mischief causing property damage to a shed on Dec. 21, 2024, at McLaughlin; guilty to assaulting the same female victim on Nov. 22, 2024, in Grand Falls, and breach of probation on Oct. 22, 2024, in Grand Falls.

The Crown withdrew nine other charges.

Plea on multiple charges

Zachery Don Brooks, 21, of Lower Brighton, will appear in provincial court on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on 20 charges laid by the RCMP.

He appeared in court on Sept. 16 when the matter was adjourned to the new date to allow him more time to consult his lawyer.

Brooks appeared in provincial court in custody by video for a bail hearing on June 19 and was released from custody with conditions (ankle bracelet). He was later arrested on a warrant for failing to appear and then released until his next court appearance.

Brooks was charged with five counts of assault involving a female victim, four counts of assault by choking, three counts of unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon (a phone cord), assault while threatening to use a weapon (a knife), possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, mischief causing damage to a cell phone, and two counts of breaching a release order (no contact).

The charges were laid in connection with a series of incidents on Nov. 24, 2024, Feb. 12, Feb. 17, May 28, June 9, June 10 and June 11, in Lower Brighton; on June 3 and June 5 in Hartland, and on Feb. 19 in Woodstock. He was arrested and taken into custody on June 12.

Facing threat charge

Peti Augustino Peti, 33, of Lakeville, will appear in provincial court on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on a threat charge. He was scheduled to answer the charge on Sept. 16 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.

RCMP charged Peti with uttering threats involving a female victim. The court heard a resolution was being sought with the Crown.

Breathalyzer refusal

Bianca Laqua, 35, of Woodstock, will appear for trial in provincial court on Dec. 1 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to one charge laid by Woodstock Police.

Laqua was charged with refusing a breathalyzer in connection with an incident on Sept. 21, 2024, in Woodstock. On Sept. 16, the court heard she was still trying to secure legal counsel for her trial.

Trial scheduled

Michael Alexander Murphy, 28, of no fixed address, will appear for trial in provincial court on Sept. 28, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to two charges. His defence counsel entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf on Sept. 16.

RCMP charged Murphy with failing to appear in court on May 12 and fraudulent impersonation with intent to avoid arrest concerning an incident on March 11 at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation).

He appeared in provincial court in custody on June 10 after being arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court in April, and was released with conditions.

Returning for trial date

Chad Brooker, 36, of Centreville, will appear in provincial court on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. to set a date for his trial after pleading not guilty to sex charges laid by the RCMP.

Brooker was charged with sexual assault, touching a minor for a sexual purpose and invitation to sexual touching in connection with an incident between June 1 and Oct. 31, 2024, at Centreville.

He appeared in court in custody via teleconference on Aug. 8 after being arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court. He was released on an undertaking. On Sept. 16, he told the court he was still consulting legal counsel for his trial.

Neqotkuk man to enter plea

Brock Vollmar, 48, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will appear in provincial court on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was scheduled for plea on Sept. 16 but was adjourned to the new date since Vollmar still did not have legal counsel.

Vollmar was charged by the RCMP with unlawful confinement, assault involving a female victim, and uttering threats for an incident on July 9 at Neqotkuk. He is also facing a theft charge for an incident at the Ultramar in Carlingford.

He appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on July 14 and was released with conditions. He told the court on Tuesday, Sept. 16, that he would defend himself at trial on Nov. 27-28 on a separate fraud charge.

Nabbed for impaired

Carvell Weston, 57, of Woodstock, will appear for trial in provincial court on Dec. 24 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to an impaired driving charge.

Woodstock Police charged Weston in connection with an incident on June 11, 2024, in Woodstock. On Sept. 16, he told the court he did not have legal counsel and intended to defend himself at his trial.

Awaiting trial date

Emily Anne Crandlemire, 30, of Windsor, appeared in provincial court on Sept. 16 to set a trial date on two charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned until Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m.

Crandlemire was charged with driving while suspended and theft of gas from the Irving Station in Florenceville-Bristol on May 12, 2023. She pleaded not guilty at an earlier court appearance.

Glassville woman charged

Katrina Bouchard, 48, of Glassville, will appear in provincial court on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on an assault charge laid by the RCMP.

Bouchard was charged with assault following an incident on April 19 at Juniper. She was scheduled to enter a plea on Sept. 16 when the matter was adjourned to the new date at the request of her defence counsel.
