Volunteer board and new website announced

Woodstock Arts Council (WAC) is pleased to announce the renewal of its volunteer board of directors and launch its new website, www.woodstockartscouncil.ca.

The Woodstock Arts Council is a community-based arts and culture organization located in Woodstock, New Brunswick.

It was founded in 1979 and is a federally incorporated charity with charitable tax status.

`

“For decades, Woodstock Arts Council has been foundational in presenting and supporting local arts and culture,” said WAC President Amy Anderson. “Without the efforts of longtime community volunteers such as Marg Beattie, the late Don Beattie, John Thompson, Jeane Wilson, and Beth Tait, we would not have seen the revival of the Carleton County Music Festival, the fundraising that purchased the Yamaha Grand Piano piano located at Woodstock High School, or support for events such as FunStage and the Dooryard Arts Festival.”

The new Board of Directors also includes longtime member John Thompson, as well as new directors Sarah Sharpe, Alie Ross, and Will Davidson, each of whom brings deep knowledge of the arts and its importance to community members of all ages.

“We want to continue to build on the legacy of Woodstock Arts Council, and we hope the public will share our enthusiasm for funding and supporting the arts,” added Anderson.

“Our new website will help us share our mission and provide a point ofcontact for community members who want to get involved in supporting local access toarts and culture and the development of local talent.”
