RCMP, first responders thank volunteers who took part in search
On March 28, shortly before 7 p.m., members of the Carleton County and York Sunbury Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) teams, along with the New Brunswick RCMP’s Police Dog Services, located the 46-year-old woman in a wooded area near Canterbury.
The woman was reported missing on Friday, March 27, at approximately 7 p.m., at a residence on Scott Siding Road in Scott Siding. When the public notice was issued, police said officers had tried to locate her but had been unsuccessful. The woman has a medical condition, and people were worried about her safety.
GSAR volunteers, a drone, a police dog, and a helicopter joined in the search.
In their social media post on Saturday night, the RCMP thanked GSAR volunteers, “as well as our specialized policing services, and the public for their assistance” in helping find the missing woman. There is no word on her condition.
