Two small wildfires burning in the Lakeland Ridges area are labelled as out of control, but so far have consumed only small portions of forest.
The fires, located at Grant Settlement and Jigger Road, have consumed 2 hectares and 1 hectare of forest. The New Brunswick Wildfire dashboard reported that the fires discovered Monday afternoon are about one per cent contained.
The Western New Brunswick Service Commission posted an advisory on its environmental health and public safety page regarding the wildfire situation along Grant Settlement Rd, Canterbury, Municipality of Lakeland Ridges. The commission advised that emergency services are in attendance and asked residents to avoid the area and monitor Voyent for any developments.
All of New Brunswick, except for a small sliver along the Bay of Fundy is under a no-burn advisory.
