Bloodsworth found guilty
Johnny Lee Bloodsworth, 39, of Arthurette, will appear in provincial court in custody for sentencing on April 15 at 1:30 p.m. after being found guilty after trial on multiple sex charges and one count of uttering threats. A federal prison sentence is expected for the accused. The allegations involved two complainants.
In February, Judge Karen Lee found Bloodsworth guilty on four counts of sexual assault and four counts of touching a female minor for a sexual purpose in connection with incidents between July 10, 2023 and Sept. 4, 2023.
He will only be sentenced on the four counts of touching a female minor for a sexual purpose. His conviction on the four counts of sexual assault was stayed under a legal rule preventing multiple convictions for the same criminal act. Judge Lee noted four other charges were withdrawn by the Crown before the trial. She remanded Bloodsworth to jail to await sentencing.
With the other complainant, the judge found him not guilty of sexual assault and touching a female minor for a sexual purpose, but guilty of uttering threats between April 1, 2023 and Sept. 1, 2023.
Bloodsworth’s lengthy trial concluded in December. All charges were laid by the RCMP. He appeared in provincial court in custody via video on June 25, 2024, for a bail hearing and was released on conditions.
He pleaded not guilty to a separate charge of breaching his release order. His trial was set for July 2 at 9:30 a.m. on that charge. Bloodsworth was charged by the RCMP in connection with an incident between Jan. 31 and May 30, 2025, in Arthurette. He was arrested and released on conditions.
Vehicle break-ins reported
Mason Darren Bustard, 19, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on April 14 to answer three charges laid by Woodstock Police. The matter was adjourned for plea until May 5 to allow him more time to secure legal counsel.
Bustard was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of break-in tools and breach of probation. He was arrested on April 9 and held for a bail hearing, when he was released with conditions, including a curfew.
Shortly after his arrest, the Woodstock Police reported a rash of vehicle break-ins had taken place overnight on April 7-8 in the Elizabeth Street, Creighton Street and Rose Court areas.
Trafficking in fentanyl
Stephen Mohan, 44, and Candace Parker, 42, both of St. Stephen, appeared in provincial court on April 14 to answer a series of charges laid by the RCMP. Their plea was adjourned until May 5 at 9:30 a.m. to allow Parker more time to secure legal counsel.
The pair was charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking on Oct. 17, 2025, in Canterbury, and possession of unstamped tobacco on Oct. 17, 2025, at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation). Mohan is also facing other drug charges in Fredericton.
Parker is also facing additional charges of uttering threats, assault, and robbery with violence related to the theft of a motor vehicle on Oct. 17, 2025, at Wotstak.
Mohan appeared in provincial court on Dec. 16, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to three other charges, but guilty to one other charge of resisting arrest. His trial date was set for Jan. 11, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.
Fine and probation
Allison Drier, 47, of Carlow, received a $195 fine and 12 months of probation when he appeared in provincial court for sentencing on April 14.
Drier pleaded guilty to two counts of uttering threats and mischief, causing property damage to a vehicle following an incident on Aug. 2, 2025, at Carlow. The charges were laid by the RCMP.
Woman awaits sentencing
Nicole Ann Demerchant, 47, of Woodstock, appeared for sentencing in provincial court on April 14 after pleading guilty to an assault charge. Her sentencing was adjourned until July 14 at 1:30 p.m. to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Demerchant was charged by Woodstock Police with assaulting another woman on Aug. 10, 2025, in Woodstock.
Remanded for bail hearing
Gunner Gray, 24, of Upper Kintore, appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on April 14 after being arrested on new charges laid by the RCMP. He was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on April 16 at 9:30 a.m.
Gray was charged with breaching his release order, mischief, causing damage to an ankle bracelet, and resisting arrest, stemming from incidents on April 13 at Richmond Settlement and Bath.
On March 23, Gray also appeared in provincial court in custody via video for a bail hearing after being arrested on five charges laid by the RCMP. He was released with conditions at that time.
Gray is also awaiting plea on two other counts of breaching his release order (no driving), flight from police, dangerous driving and impaired driving in connection with an incident on March 17 in Glassville.
He was also charged with breaching a no-contact order between Feb. 11 and Feb. 27 in Jacksonville and Bath, flight from police, and driving while suspended on Feb. 11 in Jacksonville.
Gray is also scheduled for trial in provincial court on March 18, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to other charges laid by the RCMP.
He was charged with uttering threats, resisting arrest, fleeing police and four violations of the Motor Vehicle Act for incidents on Feb. 25, April 8 and July 22, 2025. The court heard that the Crown will seek jail time on the charges.
Warrant issued
The court issued an arrest warrant for Calvin Joseph Nicholas, 54, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), after he failed to appear in provincial court for sentencing on April 14.
Nicholas pleaded guilty to driving while impaired by drugs, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of hydromorphone in connection with an incident on May 30, 2024, at Neqotkuk.
Sentencing delayed on sex charge
David Hayden, 73, of Tracey Mills, will appear for sentencing in provincial court on June 25 at 9:30 a.m. after changing his plea to guilty on one sex charge laid by the RCMP. His sentencing was first set for April 13, but was adjourned.
Hayden pleaded guilty to solicitation of a minor for sexual services concerning an incident on Sept. 12, 2023, at Florenceville-Bristol. Another charge of sexual assault was withdrawn by the Crown.
Facing three charges
Tracy Jean Taylor, 43, of Newbridge, will appear in provincial court on May 12 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on three charges.
Taylor was charged by the RCMP with assault involving a female victim on July 22, 2025, at Newbridge, failing to appear in court on Jan. 13, and breach of probation by failing to report between March 31 and April 22, 2025. She made her first court appearance on April 14 when the matter was adjourned.
Pembroke man to stand trial.
Elton Livingstone, 48, of Pembroke, will appear for trial in provincial court on April 29, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP.
Livingstone was charged with prowling at night and uttering threats. Defence Counsel Peter Crocco entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf during a court appearance on April 7.
Released on undertaking
Olivia Crain, 20, of Oakland, will appear in provincial court on May 5 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on an assault charge laid by the RCMP.
Crain was charged with assault in connection with an incident on Jan. 4 in Oakland. She made her first court appearance on April 7 and was released on an undertaking.
Trial for assault
Tristan Alexander Calhoun, 38, of Woodstock, will appear for trial in provincial court on April 15 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to assault.
Calhoun was charged by Woodstock Police with assaulting a woman, stemming from an incident between March 31 and Oct. 30, 2024, in Woodstock.
On April 14, an additional charge of breaching a no-contact order was laid against him. That charge was adjourned for plea until his trial.
Three sets of charges
Joshua Alexander Russell, 36, of Woodstock, will appear for trial in provincial court on June 30, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to seven charges laid by Woodstock Police. His trial date was booked on April 14.
Russell was charged with assault involving a female victim, uttering threats, two counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, mischief causing property damage to a wall, and breach of a release order following an incident in Woodstock on Feb. 7. He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 12 for a bail hearing and was released with conditions to a rehab facility in Nova Scotia.
Russell also appeared in provincial court on Feb. 3 and pleaded not guilty to a breach charge. His trial was set for Jan. 13, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. Russell was charged by Woodstock Police with breaching his release order stemming from an incident between Dec. 11 and Dec. 12, 2025, in Woodstock.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 16, 2025, for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. Russell also pleaded not guilty to six other charges laid by Woodstock Police. His trial date was set for Jan. 13-14, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.
Russell was charged with two counts of breaking into a dwelling house, breach of an emergency intervention order, mischief causing property damage to a vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving while suspended in connection with an incident on Sept. 21, 2025, in Woodstock. He has a prior criminal record.
Plea on seven charges
Ryan James Smith, 37, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on May 5 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on seven charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Smith was charged with two counts of uttering threats, three counts of breach of probation, theft, and mischief, stemming from incidents on Oct. 20, 2025, and on Jan. 7 and Jan. 9 in Woodstock.
He was scheduled to enter a plea on April 14 when the matter was adjourned at the request of his defence lawyer.
Returning for plea
Jill Smith, 37, of Fielding, will appear in provincial court on May 5 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on five charges laid by the RCMP. She was scheduled for plea on April 14, when the matter was adjourned to allow her more time to secure legal counsel.
Smith was charged with fraud over $5,000, forgery, identity theft, fraudulent impersonation, and possession of stolen mail between Jan. 1 and March 1, 2025, in Florenceville-Bristol. She is also facing more charges in Fredericton. Smith has a prior criminal record.
Fredericton man remanded
Blake Evan Donald Wilson, 33, of Fredericton, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on April 14 to answer multiple charges laid by Woodstock Police. He waived his bail until later and returns to court in custody for plea on May 12 at 9:30 a.m.
Wilson was charged with break and entering at Canadian Tire, mischief causing property damage to a fence, and breach of a release order (no contact) on March 23 in Woodstock. He was also charged with fraudulent impersonation, resisting arrest, and breach of a release order (no contact) for another incident on March 22 in Woodstock. The court heard Wilson is also facing more charges in Fredericton. A resolution is being sought with the Crown.
Remanded for trial
Christopher Thomas O’Keefe, 27, of Fielding, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on April 14 and pleaded guilty to failing to appear for trial in December. His sentencing was set for April 17 at 9:30 a.m., when he is scheduled to stand trial on other separate charges.
O’Keefe was charged by the RCMP with sexual assault in connection with an incident on Feb. 26, 2023, at Upper Brighton, and failing to report his whereabouts to the national sex offender registry on Jan. 9 in Woodstock. He pleaded not guilty to both charges, and trial dates were set for April 17 and May 11 at 9:30 a.m.
Charge withdrawn
The Crown has withdrawn a stolen property charge laid against Kelsey Schriver, 25, of Johnville.
Schriver was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle following an incident on Aug. 4, 2024, in Lakeville. She pleaded not guilty and was booked to stand trial on April 15. The trial date was vacated.
Trial date confirmed
Joshua Williams, 28, of Centreville, was scheduled to appear in provincial court on April 14 for a monitoring hearing regarding his trial on two charges laid by the RCMP. Defence Counsel Alex Carleton appeared on his behalf and confirmed the trial date for Jan. 22, 2027, at 1:30 p.m.
Williams appeared in provincial court in custody via video on March 19 for a bail hearing after being arrested. He was released with conditions and pleaded not guilty to uttering threats and breaching an undertaking.
He also appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 and pleaded not guilty to assault. His trial on that charge was also set for Jan. 22, 2027, at 1:30 p.m.
Williams was charged by the RCMP with assault involving a female victim concerning an incident on Aug. 23, 2025, in Centreville.
Not-guilty plea
Christopher Elliott, 35, of Wapske, appeared in provincial court on April 14 and pleaded not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP. His trial date was set for May 13, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.
Elliott was charged by the RCMP with breaking into a dwelling house and breaching probation in connection with an incident on March 31, 2025, at Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation).
He appeared in court in custody via video for a bail hearing on March 19 after being arrested on a warrant for failing to appear. He was later released with conditions.
Plea adjourned to May
Jaden Joseph Stanley Dickison, 21, of Nackawic, appeared in provincial court on April 14 to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police and RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until May 5 at 9:30 a.m. to allow him more time to secure legal counsel.
Dickison was charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, and breach of probation for an incident on March 19 in Woodstock.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via video on March 23 for a bail hearing and was released on conditions, including house arrest and the wearing of an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle. He was also prohibited from driving. Dickison has a prior criminal record.
Arrested after police chase
Shayne Everett Cameron, 33, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on April 13 to answer charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until April 23 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Cameron appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on April 2 and waived his bail. He was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited from having it, flight from police, dangerous driving, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and breach of probation following an incident on March 29 at Perth-Andover when a spike belt was used to stop a fleeing vehicle. Cameron has a prior criminal record.
Between March 27 and March 29, the RCMP conducted a joint traffic operation in southern Victoria County and the District of Carleton North. Over two days, police made more than 200 traffic stops. Three vehicles failed to stop, and the drivers were arrested.
A 25-year-old man from Odell and a 50-year-old man from East Brighton will appear in court on charges at a later date.
Denied bail and remanded
Jesse Colton Demerchant, 34, of Scott Siding, will appear in provincial court in custody via video on April 20 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on three charges laid by the RCMP. He appeared in court in custody on April 13 when the matter was adjourned.
Demerchant was denied bail when he appeared in provincial court in custody via video on April 2. He was charged with two counts of breaching a no-contact order on March 26, 2026, and June 25, 2025, in Windsor, and breaching his release order on Nov. 2, 2025, in Stickney. He had a dated prior criminal record.
Demerchant is also scheduled to appear in provincial court on Nov. 12 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to additional charges laid by the RCMP. The court heard that the date may need to be moved up due to his custody.
Demerchant was charged with breaching a no-contact order and resisting arrest on May 29, 2025, at Windsor and assault, assault with a weapon, and assault by choking involving a female victim on May 14, 2025, at Windsor. He appeared in provincial court in custody via video on June 2, 2025, for a bail hearing, was released on conditions, and later entered a rehab facility.
Sentence pending on two charges
Clay Hargrove, 30, of Beechwood, will appear in provincial court in custody via video on April 15 to answer two charges laid by the RCMP.
Hargrove appeared in court on Jan. 19 after being arrested on a warrant and waived his bail until later. He was charged with failing to attend court and breach of probation on Jan. 8.
He pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm to another man and possession of a stolen ATV for an incident on Aug. 27, 2024, at Upper Kent, but failed to return for sentencing. He also faces charges of resisting arrest and identity fraud. His sentencing will be dealt with after his plea on the newer charges.
Damage at food bank
Elizabeth Alice Davidson, 55, of Nackawic, will appear in provincial court on April 28 at 9:30 a.m. to set a trial date after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Davidson was charged with breach of probation and mischief causing property damage on May 26, 2025, at the Valley Food Bank on Houlton Road. She appeared in court on April 14 when the matter was adjourned.
Trial continues in July
Jeffrey Richard Bull, 45, of Newburg, appeared for trial in provincial court on April 14 after pleading not guilty to hitting another man with a baseball bat. After a full day of testimony, the trial was adjourned for continuation until July 3 at 9:30 a.m.
Bull was charged by Woodstock Police with aggravated assault and breach of probation concerning an incident on Sept. 8, 2024, at 2 a.m., when a man suffered a broken elbow after being struck by a bat on St. James Street in Woodstock.
During the trial, the male victim testified he was at a home partying with friends when Bull began yelling about the noise from across the street. The man said he approached Bull to talk to him when the alleged attack occurred. He said he fainted after being hit with the bat as Bull left the scene.
Facing more charges
Zachery Don Brooks, 21, of Lower Brighton, will appear in provincial court on May 12 at 9:30 a.m. to set a date for his trial on six more charges laid by the RCMP.
He was charged with breaching a no-contact order, uttering threats, assault involving a female victim, assault with a weapon (a broom and a board), assault by choking and mischief causing property damage to a cell phone on Oct. 28, 2025, at Lower Brighton. He pleaded not guilty, and a monitoring hearing was held on April 14.
Brooks appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for a monitoring hearing about his multiple trials on 20 other charges. He pleaded not guilty, and trial dates were set for May 13 at 9:30 a.m., June 24 at 9:30 a.m., Aug. 20 at 9:30 a.m., and Aug. 24 at 9:30 a.m. He told the court he had no legal counsel at any of his trials.
Brooks was charged by RCMP with five counts of assault involving a female victim, four counts of assault by choking, three counts of unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon (a phone cord), assault while threatening to use a weapon (a knife), possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, mischief causing damage to a cell phone, and two counts of breaching a release order (no contact).
The charges were laid in connection with a series of incidents on Nov. 24, 2024, Feb. 12, Feb. 17, May 28, June 9, June 10 and June 11, 2025, in Lower Brighton; on June 3 and June 5, 2025, in Hartland, and on Feb. 19, 2025, in Woodstock.
