Pair in court to face charges on July 22
A 31-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman from Florenceville-Bristol were arrested following an investigation into mail theft and identity fraud in the Western Valley region.
In January 2025, members of the Western Valley RCMP initiated an investigation into mail theft and identity fraud following numerous reports of community mailboxes being forced open and mail stolen from the community.
On April 22, 2025, police executed a search warrant in connection with the ongoing investigation at a residence on Centreville Road in Florenceville-Bristol and arrested two women, aged 31 and 37. During the search, police seized ledgers containing victims’ personal information, credit cards, and government-issued IDs.
The two women were later released and are both scheduled to appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on July 22, 2025.
Anyone with information about these incidents, who witnesses suspicious activity near community mailboxes, or who has recently been a victim of mail theft, is asked to contact their local police.
