Fire extensively damages home in downtown Woodstock

Woodstock Fire Chief Harold McLellan says a fire that ripped through the upper floors of a Woodstock home on Monday, Aug. 25, is still under investigation. On Tuesday, Aug. 26, two investigators from the Fire Marshal’s office were on scene, trying to determine the cause of the fire.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday, firefighters were called to a structure fire on Main Street in downtown Woodstock.

Emergency personnel that night confirmed that everyone in the home escaped safely, and no one required medical assistance.

The house was using a generator for power at the time.
