Autopsy to determine exact cause of death

A 47-year-old man from Upper Kent has died following a single-motorcycle crash in Upper Kent, New Brunswick.

In a social media post, the RCMP noted that on May 21, at approximately 4:50 a.m., members of the Western Valley RCMP responded to a report of an overdue traveller in Upper Kent.

“When police arrived in the area, they located the driver and sole occupant of a motorcycle in the ditch along with the motorcycle. The driver died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The crash is believed to have occurred when the motorcycle, travelling northbound on the NB trail running parallel to Route 105, lost control and landed in the ditch,” the release stated.

Members of the Bath Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, and the New Brunswick Coroner’s office attended the scene. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man’s exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
