Officers take three men and a woman into custody after responding to suspicious activity on Elizabeth Street
Woodstock Police Force officers arrested four people on break-and-enter charges after responding to suspicious activities on a residential Woodstock street Thursday afternoon, Sept. 26.
In a media release on Friday, Sept. 27, the Woodstock police said officers responded at approximately 4 p.m. to reports of suspicious individuals in the yard of a residence in the Elizabeth Street area.
“Upon arrival, officers quickly determined that a break and enter had occurred at a nearby residence, and it was believed the same individuals were involved,” the release explained.
Officers located and arrested one male suspect as he exited the residence. However, three other individuals refused to come out.
After executing a search warrant, the Woodstock police took two additional males and a female into custody. A search of the residence led to the recovery of several stolen items.
Police said the investigation led to charges against a 37-year-old male, a 28-year-old male, a 27-year-old female, and a 35-year-old male for break, enter, and theft. The 28-year-old man also faces charges of breach of probation.
Police said the 37-year-old and 28-year-old men were held in custody, while the 27-year-old woman and 35-year-old man were released with conditions and scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
The Woodstock Police Force said the investigation involved members of uniform patrols, the Street Crime Unit, and the Community Engagement Unit.
